The perfect breakfast on the run 🀩 This mornin The perfect breakfast on the run 🀩

This morning I had to take my dad to the station early to go down to Melbourne for surgery and then had to take Cappuccino to get surgery! βœ‚οΈπŸˆ

Lucky I always have a box of bars in the car so I could munch on a Gingerbread bar in the vet car park while I was waiting πŸ˜„

After 7 years of running We Bar None, I'm still not sick of my energy bars πŸ˜†

They're tasty, fudgy and filling.

They don't spike my blood sugar or leave me feeling crap.

A customer told me on Saturday that she'd given one to get sister when she was crashing and getting haaangry and after eating it she said "I feel like a new woman" 🀩πŸ’ͺ

Buy some for yourself via the website, stash some in your car and bag, and never get hangry again!
Two weeks ago I was driving up to Hilldene in gold Two weeks ago I was driving up to Hilldene in golden hour ✨

I managed to escape COVID and was able to attend the leadership retreat that @environment_victoria had invited me to.

It was a surreal weekend and still feels like a dream!

We stayed at the beautiful Commonground Co-op, surrounded by serene bushland 🦜

There were 20 of us from across the state, brought together through our passion for the environment and community.

Over the weekend, EV facilitated one on one conversations, small groups and full group activities, so that by the end I felt like I truly knew each and every one of these people.

There were also a few in-depth skills sessions on volunteer recruitment, facilitation, and deep canvassing.

These skills are crucial to the work and volunteering that I do, and even though I already do all of these things, I have never had formal training in any of it.

It was great to get some affirmation that I'm doing a good job! πŸ˜†πŸ₯°

I learnt a lot and all of the EV staff led by example.

I can not fault the way the weekend was facilitated. It ran to time, everyone felt heard and included, we discussed incredibly difficult topics at times and we were always treated with care and thoughtfulness.

Also, the food was incredible! πŸ˜†πŸ€©

Thank you EV, for putting this on, for inviting me, and for the impeccable vibe ✨

Thank you to all the other attendees, for your honesty and openness, for sharing your stories, and for being out there in your communities working hard, not for money or recognition, but to make our world a better place.

Together, we can πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’š
It was National Tree Day on Sunday! 🌳 We Bar N It was National Tree Day on Sunday! 🌳

We Bar None is a 'Friend of Fifteen Trees', which means that every year 60 trees are planted in my name by @15.trees.au

These trees provide habitat, food, and safety for native animals 🐨🦜

They stabilise soil and water tables 🏞️

Over time, they will collect and store more carbon from the atmosphere than We Bar None is responsible for 🌏

Trees are amazing!! 🌳🀩🌳

Of course, the first step to being 'carbon neutral' should always be to reduce your emissions in the first place.

I do this by using local manufacturing and services, recycling packaging and reducing my materials consumption, and choosing carbon neutral postal options.

For everything I can't cut out, I plant trees!

It's my mission to give you a snack option that is carbon neutral and convenient!

You should be able to walk in a shop, pick a packaged product off the shelf, and know that you're not hurting our environment by doing so.

If you're interested in becoming a Friend of Fifteen Trees, check out their website

Come along to the Plastic Free July market and inf Come along to the Plastic Free July market and info event on Thursday!

I may or may not be there πŸ˜…
I'm on day 5 of caring for my husband, who tested positive for COVID.
He is isolating in our bedroom and I am taking all precautions when taking him food etc so hopefully I can stay negative!

So far so good 🀞

Anyway, whether I'm there or not you should check out the PFJ event.

It's the second year we've run it and it's going to be twice the size!

It's being held in the big foyer room at Barkly Square and it coincides with Ballarat Wholefoods Collective and Rainbow Coffee at A Pot of Courage so it should be a lively morning!

There will be stalls of different plastic free businesses and community groups, giveaways and a raffle.

Check it out! πŸ’š
